Kuenzang N Tshering
Executive Director
Mr. Kunzang N Tshering holds a Master in Arts (HRM) from the United Kingdom (UK) and has served more than 38 years in public service in various positions. He served as Dzongdag in Zhemgang, Bumthang, and Punakha, Chief of Protocol (CoP) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and as the Director of the Department of Occupational Standards in the government, among others. He brings a diverse profile of working experiences within and abroad, including the first Directorship at the Bay of Bengal Initiative for multi-sectorial, Technical & Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Secretariat based in Dhaka, and as a young intern at the UN HQ in New York and Geneva respectively. He is zealous about serving the community and children/persons with disabilities in Bhutan. Mr. Kunzang N Tshering joined ABS in May 2022.

Namgay Dorji
Program/Project Manager
Mr. Namgay Dorji holds a Bachelor of Science in Information and Technology from Hindustan College of Arts and Science, Bharathiar University. He joined Ability Bhutan Society (ABS) in 2012 and is the most senior staff at ABS. He has completed six months of training in social inclusion in Japan and has received various trainings in leadership, project development, and management. At ABS, he oversees all programs, activities, and projects, ensuring they align with the organization’s mission to support children with disabilities in Bhutan. He is a dedicated and experienced professional who brings deep expertise, strong leadership, and a compassionate approach to his work.

Pema Deki
HR/Communication Officer
Ms. Pema Deki holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Botany from Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan. She joined Ability Bhutan Society (ABS) in 2019 as Dzongkhag Project Coordinator and has experiences in project coordination, communication, and inclusive development for more than 6 years. She has completed trainings in leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, project planning, and child protection. At ABS, she is responsible for managing internal and external communications, and supporting human resource functions. Ms. Pema is passionate about social service and committed to promoting equality.

Yeshi Wangmo
Social Worker
Ms. Yeshi Wangmo completed her Higher Secondary Education at Rinchen Higher Secondary School in 2017. She possesses a strong foundation in Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), having undergone extensive training in the same field. Notably, she has successfully completed all four cohorts of the Inclusive ECCD training program.
Prior to joining ABS, Ms. Yeshi Wangmo served as a facilitator at Changangkha Inclusive ECCD for one year, where she gained valuable hands-on experience working with children with diverse disabilities. In 2024, she joined ABS bringing with her a deep passion for supporting the well-being and development of young children with disabilities. She is currently enhancing her professional skills further through a online course in Applied Behaviour Analysis.

Sumitra Darjee
Social Worker
Ms. Sumitra Darjee completed her Higher Secondary education from Pelkhil High School in 2020. She joined ABS in 2024 as a Social Worker. Prior to that she worked as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) aide at ELC Primary School, where she gained valuable experience in inclusive education and received extensive training on various types of disabilities. She has earned numerous certificates in the field of disability, further deepening her understanding and expertise. She is currently pursuing an online course in Applied Behaviour Analysis Techniques (ABAT) to enhance her skills in supporting children with developmental needs. Ms. Sumitra is a passionate and proactive individual who brings warmth, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility, willing to go beyond working hours to support those in her care.

Namgay Om
Social Worker
Ms. Namgay Om completed her Higher Secondary education at Punakha Higher Secondary School in 2012. She joined ABS in 2015 as a Social Worker, and since then she has been playing a key role in supporting children with disabilities, including their families. She has received training in counseling, early intervention, child development, understanding autism, child protection, speech therapy, and inclusive education. She is passionate about promoting inclusive practices at ABS intervention center. Ms. Namgay completed a certificate course in Community Initiative in Inclusion from ADAPT (Able Disabled All People Together), Mumbai, India and also holds a certificate in Social Work from Samtse College of Education, Bhutan. Currently, she is pursuing an online course in ABAT (Applied Behaviour Analysis Techniques) to further enhance her skills in supporting children with developmental needs. She brings compassion, commitment, and experiences to her work towards wellbeing of the society at large.

Kinzang Wangmo Tamang
Social Worker
Ms. Kinzang Wangmo Tamang completed her Higher Secondary education from Kelki High School in 2018 and is a dedicated early childhood educator with a strong background in inclusive teaching. She completed both the beginning and intermediate training programs, including a specialized training in inclusive education from DSP Play School. She later continued to volunteer and later served as Special Educational Needs (SEN) aide at Changangkha Inclusive ECCD, where she gained valuable hands-on experiences to provide early childhood interventions to the children with disabilities. In February 2025, she joined ABS, bringing with her a deep commitment, fostering an inclusive, supportive, and nurturing learning environment for children with diverse abilities.

Pasang
Driver
Mr. Pasang completed his Higher Secondary Education at Rinchen Higher Secondary School in 2006. He brings a diverse range of experience, including working as a field extension staff at Mountain Hazelnut Venture Pvt. Ltd. in Punakha in 2014. Prior to joining ABS, he served as a driver at Postcard Dewa Resort. He holds a professional driving license with almost 14 years of driving experience. Mr. Pasang joined Ability Bhutan Society (ABS) in 2024, as a driver, supporting the organization’s field operations and transportation needs.
