Development of audio-visual materials
Ability Bhutan Society with support from Bhutan Foundation had a preliminary discussion on developing audio-visual materials on basic intervention strategies for children with disabilities for parents to carry out at home. In addition, the team also discussed on developing tactile communication board for children with cortical visual impairment and low vision. The contents will be developed in consultation with the medical specialists and distribute it via online.
The year 2020 wasn’t easy for children with disabilities and their families/caregivers as due to the lockdown, the regular intervention services at the center could not be carried out. Thus, by developing short videos we hope to support not only to the children with disabilities enrolled at the center but to all children with disabilities and their families across Bhutan. This would be a great opportunity for families/parents to engage their children at home.
